2021 UAVF Fundraiser

On Saturday 23rd October we held our annual fundraising event, and it was a wonderful day of fun for everyone who got involved. We held an afternoon tea at our hall in Nundah, Brisbane, and enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of trivia, games and a live auction. Everyone got dressed up in the theme, Country Comes To Town, as we were raising money to assist rural people who need assistance when they come to Brisbane for medical treatment. Half of the funds raised will be donated to the charity "Breaking Down Barriers for Rural Patients in City Hospitals (Brisbane)" which was founded by Justine Christerson (pictured) over 10 years ago, to assist those in the bush when they come down to the big smoke for medical treatment. What she does is amazing and we were so happy to be able to support her in helping our friends from the country when they need it most. See https://www.facebook.com/ruralpatientscityhospital/ for more info about this amazing charitable service. The other half of the funds raised will go to assist needy children in Kenya, who the UAVF has been supporting for the past 10 years, mainly with education cost assistance, but also recently with medical help during the pandemic.

The final count hasn't come in yet, but we are anticipating over $10,000 from the event, and we are so thankful for the love and grace shared by all to help these two needy causes. It reinforced the essence of our mission : "Giving Hope, Sharing Grace".
