In late March, Myanmar experienced a significant earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale. Our volunteers have recently commenced the distribution of rice and cooking oil to those affected, thanks to the ongoing generosity of donors to the UAVF.
On Sunday morning, April 13, another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred near Meiktila, a small city in central Myanmar, as reported by the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of this recent quake was approximately midway between Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city, which sustained severe damage and casualties from last month's earthquake, and Naypyitaw, the capital, where several government offices were also affected. We have not yet received any updates, but we continue to seek your support as these aftershocks persist. Our volunteers are actively assisting those in need within their local communities. All donations received are fully allocated to those in need.
